Rubysbigbikechallenge aims to get kids to put away their electronic devices and get back outdoors riding their bikes and making new friends. Children set their own challenges and also choose a charity that will benefit from the money they raise whilst doing the challenge.

Story

Rubysbigbikechallenge came from the mind of an 8 year old girl called you guessed it, Ruby. Ruby decided at the start of one summer holidays that she wanted to see how many miles she could ride that summer and how many new friends she could make whilst doing it. Ruby also then decided that whilst she saw how many miles she could do she'd also raise money for charity as she did it. That first year onboard her 24" wheeled bike she rode 100miles and raised nearly £600 for charity.

The following year Rubysbigbikechallenge opened up the concept and encouraged other children to do the same, setting their own challenges and choosing their own charities the children rode in all parts of the UK from Cornwall too Yorkshire and raised a massive £6000 that benefitted over 12 charities from dementia uk to air ambulance.

Aswell as raising money for charity Rubysbigbikechallenge encourages kids to get out, get active and make new friends face to face rather then via an internet connection. Now in its third year of running Rubysbigbikechallenge has grown again and has seen support from many industry sponsors and media.
